Dear Diary,
Entries of the Ottawa International Animation Festival were reflections of what the art world appreciates nowadays. Watching the making of Facing It, is an encouragement to independent animator. I do not have problems with working alone though time management is always the enemy of independent creators, works done by studio, on the other hand, remain less attractive to me because I can see there are many decisions being made carefully, every aspect of the animation seems so seamless and flawless. For example, when comparing Forget Me Not and Acid Rain, I definitely choose Acid Rain because the boldness of rebel against rules and common senses.
Windy Day is an Oscar-awarded classic, it is a documentation of two children’s imaginary world. I realized, despite the method is what I want to work on, the imaginative, light-hearted tone in Windy Day is what I am not going to make attempts.
the feedback I received from the 10 favourite short film is as expected. There are too many music videos in my top 10 list, I truly feel the bad influence of liking music videos to me as a storyteller. I agree to avoid the pace of music videos as much as possible.
