Dear Diary,

Today’s class was a baptism for an animator. I got to know more excellent animations that are constructed by different kinds of story structure.

Personally, I like Symphony 42 the most, it is an anthology that consists passionless moments of the relationship between human and animals. I find a collection of scenes that are sharing connections and/or similar power is very seductive.

This gives me thoughts about the research topic that I am going to work on.

I have few ideas that is about the method of presentation in animation, rotoscoping, using real-life materials, etc. As long as concepts that influence the style, for example, minimalism, surrealism. I am interested in the ideas of reconstructing reality through my drawings while making content with sources.

The reading of Notes Towards A Theory of Animation reminds me again the difference between a student’s work and a corporate product. There is obviously no way to create Finding Nemo by a single person. Student’s or individual’s work is important because it has the vision of its creator. As a student animator, questioning the form of animation is always the goal to stay away from glamourous animation that does not have a personal statement in it.
